I thank God for not deserting me when I need his direction most. As of matter of fact everytime I get lost is when I find God the easiest. I love how available he makes himself for me. I feel like God is my Triple A. lol. I got a flat, im outta gas, lost, my battery dead, and I need a tow all at the same time smh. Wild nigga, cold world. Thank God for God. I need him so much. Thank you Jehovah for having my back even when Im frontin’  in your sons name I ask you repress my anxieties and nourish the faith I have in me. A’ humble fuckin-men. smh. – gritty

WBC 2013 starts next week!!

The 2013 World Baseball Classic will be an international baseball competition. The main tournament is scheduled to be held from March 2 to 19. For the first time, a qualifying round was played during the second half of 2012 that expands tournament participation from 16 to 28 teams.[1]

Japan enters as the two-time defending champion, having won the first two World Baseball Classics in 2006 and 2009.[

PHOENIX — For the second time since the inaugural World Baseball Classic in 2006, the Phoenix area will be home to one of the first four pools, beginning next Thursday when Italy plays Mexico in a 1 p.m. MT game at Salt River Fields, the Spring Training complex shared by the D-backs and Rockies.

Team USA and Team Canada complete the bracket in which four of the six games will be played at Chase Field. The U.S. opens with one of the most exciting games of the weekend against neighboring Mexico on Friday, March 8, at 7 p.m. at Chase Field.

MLB Network will broadcast all 39 games in a tournament that eventually closes with the semifinals and final March 17-19 in San Francisco’s AT&T Park.

“It’s going to be a blast,” D-backs president Derrick Hall said. “We bid for it because we were hosts for the first round of the first one in 2006 and we thought it was such a success. The U.S.-Mexico game should be quite an event. We’ll continue to market to our Hispanic friends and across the border to Mexico, and hopefully get visitors up here again to watch those games. Last time, we couldn’t keep merchandise on the shelf, and the World Baseball Classic is much more popular now.”

The U.S. plays the other two premier games at Chase Field in the round-robin first round: on Saturday, March 9, at 7 p.m. against Italy and Sunday, March 10, at 1 p.m. against Canada. There’s a day-night doubleheader under the dome on March 9 with Canada playing Mexico at 12:30 p.m.

Jackie Wilson

Jackie Wilson – is the February 22, 2013, featured story selection from the book to celebrate Black History Month.

Long before there was Usher, Michael Jackson and Marvin Gaye there was the man who only rivaled Elvis Presley and he was know a…s “Mr. Excitement.” Known as a singer and performer, he captured America by his incredible dance moves, high energy and excitement on stage, Wilson was important in the transition of rhythm and blues into soul. He was considered a master showman, one of the most dynamic and influential singers and performers in R&B and rock history. Gaining fame in his early years as a member of the R&B vocal group Billy Ward and His Dominoes, he went solo in 1957 and recorded over 50 hit singles that spanned R&B, pop, soul, doo-wopand easy listening. During a 1975 benefit concert, he collapsed on-stage from a heart attack and subsequently fell into a coma that persisted for nearly nine years until his death in 1984, aged 49.

Thomas Metzger

Thomas Metzger (born April 9, 1938) is an American white nationalist activist who founded White Aryan Resistance (WAR), which the Southern Poverty Law Center has designated a hate group. A neo-Nazi who was a Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan in the 1970s, Metzger has voiced strong opposition to immigration to the United States. In the early 1980s, he was registered with the Democratic Party and sought to be a Democrat representative for Congress and the Senate. He has been incarcerated in Los Angeles County, California and Toronto, Ontario, and has been the subject of several lawsuits and government inquiries.

 Ku Klux Klan

During the 1970s he joined the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, which was led by David Duke, eventually becoming the Grand Dragon for the State of California. In summer 1979, he organized a patrol, the Klan Border Watch[2] to capture illegal Mexican immigrants south of Fallbrook, California. Subsequent groups, such as Glenn Spencer‘s American Border Patrol and Ranch Rescue, derived from this effort.[2] Metzger’s Klan organization also had a security force which was involved in confrontations with communists and other anti-Klan protesters.[3][4] Read the rest of this entry

Matthew Gaines

Stole this from my big bro Dre’s Facebook post.
Matthew Gaines was a former slave who taught himself to read by using smuggled books because blacks weren’t allowed to educate themselves. After being captured numerous times from trying to escape from him slave masters, he was forced to work as a runaway slave until the emancipation. Gaines established himself as both a Baptist preacher and a politician.
Gaines eventually was elected as a Senator… of the Texas’s 16th district in the Twelfth Texas Legislature.he was a fierce advocate for public education, prison reform, the protection of black voters and tenant farming reformation. One of his greates contributions was his role in passing the Militia Bill, which created a state police force to combat against lawlessness and protect against voter intimidation.
He was eventually removed from his seat because he preached black pride and stated “in the eyes of god, blacks are as good as whites; they should have pride and hold their heads up even in troubled times.”
Just in case yall thought black history month was only for the first week of February like most schools….smh – Drae Perry

(Fohi Legend) Kris Stevens is My Guy!

Kris Stevens is Really MY GUY!!! I’ve been a fan of his since I was a 12 year old at ELks L.L. and old enough to know about Fontana baseball. Kris became a local hero back in the day when he was drafted 11th pick 3rd round  out of Fontana High to the Phillies A team (right behind Jimmy Rollins)in 1996. He maintained consistent stats (Click to view stats) and established a legitimate 6 year pro career ending in 2002.

Not only is Kris a STAND-OUT ball player but hes also a all around STAND UP Guy as well. Anyone who knows him knows of his dedication to youth, baseball, Fontana Baseball, The City of Fontana, friends, and his family.  He was recently recognized by the FUSD Board as Lead District Safety Officer for his sole resolution in a Elementary School burgarlary where Kris responded by himself, unarmed, and completely secured the perimeter , detained the burgalar, and retained the stolen property! (Click to view article ) The dude is ICE cool. Theres nothing that can faze him and I love and admire it about him sincerely.

He’s always been a great example, coach and mentor for me and Ive always felt he personally cared for me. I’ve always been an edgy affilate of anybodies. But Kris has always accepted me and treated me as a lil brother since I the first time meeting him.  I think he means so much to the city of Fontana, and it’s Baseball community but what I really appreciate about Kris is his dedication. The Guy is so much heart and it shows in everything he does. From Baseball to Life. From his family relationships with his wife, son, brother, and pops, to all his baseball relationships with pro colleagues, moms and dads from his boys traveling teams, to the players on that team, (Go Aztecs)and many other fontana alumi ballers that have grown up idolizing or envying him and his curveball. He is completely genuine and gives his best effort no matter the situation. The Guy is an awesome example of personable and quality character and I feel such a privilege to have considered as his friend and him mine. Thats why Kris Stevens is my Guy!!

Just a lil recognition for a stand up Guy who means so much to his community #FontanaBoyzUp!

His card is still available on ebay if you still want to support my guy and what he represents. (click the link)

In the rain

In the rain I feel like I’m even. In the rain I feel like I’m the advantaged. I feel whole when the rain pours, i hate for it to stop.In the rain I feel normal. I feel that I am home.
In the rain i feel peace. In the rain i share my solemn.

In the rain I feel that the universe is as I am. And I feel free and I feel lighter as if I share the weight of my melancholy with everyone the rain touches.

“This is who I am” I say!
As the rain falls and the sky grays
Can u feel my heart-set?

Do you feel the morose? Do you feel the dismay?Listen to the pour as heaven meets earth’s floor. Something in my soul loves to hear Rain drops from miles above me.

Listen some more.  For this Is my tune daily.64th notes 32nd notes 16ths and 8ths. The rain’s shutters plays like a soundtrack in my lifes background. Wind chimes and thunders bass. Heaven plays my heart a cadence.

Listen so u can relate. Pain is washed; sorrow is welcome. Joy is soft and love is slow.
This is who I am. In the rain I feel you know me. When it stops, time resumes and your pace will hasten back.
And the short time that you and I were relative– Will be gone.
You’ll be gone. You’ll forget and I’ll still be here in under the grey.
With my stormy songs on repeat
All Alone with my passion

In the rain ….

The Confines of my solitude (Revision)

The Confines of my solitude

 Stricken to my confines,

my Heart’ contents of mellow.

Cello’d  notes of Melancholy tones,

play off me melodically in a bellow.

Tunes of bliss to the SOLE— echo —  in the abyss of the soul.

The solitude is a chill, but one finds warmth in his cold.

Inside of his of his Own is the Home he lives

And Inside and Alone is a Throne he sit

The Corrosion of weakness is done in a strength.

And the makings of a soldier are done when Entrenched.

Its reparation that is done when identified in one’s own Truth…

Therefore I find no confine within confines of my solitude.

The Gritz on… “The Meanings of a Word” by Gloria Naylor

This is my reflection Journal for my English Class based on the text “The Meanings of a Word” by Gloria Gaynor

I truly hated reading this story and was completely irritated by it. I was highly offended by the reading and the discussion of it in the class. I thought the account was completely false and destructive for black people. As a black person I have never called another black person the word nigger in my life.  I thought it was unfair for the writer to volunteer this as a statement for all black people. There is a great difference between the WORD “nigger” and the expression “nigga.” I was uncomfortable with the use of the word and most of all I was I was uncomfortable with how comfortable my classmates and my professor where with using the word nigger. As if it was a relevant word in a relevant text.

Letterz To God #4

Letters to god
Goodmorning father my blessing to u through my sons mouth this holy day. I ask for ur forgiveness through and for any of my error and inequity. I love that I am forgiven for my sin through Christ. I am of such awe in the teachings in his examples. I pray that I may be able to respond to adversity, persecution, and opposition of my faith with the same stern authority and confidence.

He has said to me he that believes in him will not die in sin but live forever through Christ. It is not my intention to live forever but to simply be a child of god, a friend of Christ, and a good student of holy doctrine. The gospel of mine is an account of a modern spiritual witness. I am witness that god and his gracious spirit live in present times. God and his spiritual will live in the discarded youth. God and his spirit live in the prisoners of state and of county. God and his gracious influence live in the violent ghettos and streets in the disfynctioning homes of poor and un educated. God and his doctrine live in the church, the temples the congregation,  the kingdom halls in the schools, in men , in woman.

The will of god and god himself live in the hearts of those who need him. In the hearts of those whom have faith that christ lives is the presence of the almighty god yahweh. The living god “he that causes to become” what mighty of a name to have for such a kind and friendly power! He who has creates us has not done such to stricken us to constant reproach and punishment. He that causes you to become has done such with loving intentions to groom grow and nurture your necessity to become a happy gracious soul in his liikeness of his own! Rejoice in the knowledge of god. For the knowledge of him is the universe only insoluble truth.

Christ proverbs in reference to knowledge of him and his father saying the truth will make u free!  Therefore I say to you in my epistle to say be happy, be joyous, be free! Come into the knowledge of god and know truth! Come to know freedom with the peace of Christ and safeguard of his father as your your own.

DayBreak In Alabama

Langston Hughes

DayBreak In Alabama

When I get to be a composer

I’m gonna write me some music about

Daybreak in Alabama

And I’m gonna put the purtiest songs in it

Rising out of the ground like a swamp mist

And falling out of heaven like soft dew.

I’m gonna put some tall tall trees in it

And the scent of pine needles

And the smell of red clay after rain

And long red necks

And poppy colored faces

And big brown arms

And the field daisy eyes

Of black and white black white black people

And I’m gonna put white hands

And black hands and brown and yellow hands

And red clay earth hands in it

Touching everybody with kind fingers

And touching each other natural as dew

In that dawn of music when I

Get to be a composer

And writ about daybreak

In Alabama

A Quick Scripture #2

Isaiah Chapter 12

And in that day thou shalt say, O LORD, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me.2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.3 Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.

4 And in that day shall ye say, Praise the LORD, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted.5 Sing unto the LORD; for he hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth.6 Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee.

RIALTO: Coach who was shot may face criminal charges

San Bernardino police are preparing to submit a criminal complaint to prosecutors against a Rialto basketball coach who says he was shot on his way to a park bathroom.

San Bernardino Police Chief Robert Handy said Friday that detectives plan to submit a case against Eisenhower basketball coach Steve Johnson to the San Bernardino County district attorney’s office. Police are conducting a separate investigation into the shooting.

Since the shooting, Handy said detectives have learned information, independent of Johnson, about what he was doing at the park.

Handy said Johnson may have involved in potential criminal behavior, but declined to elaborate.

A First Sonnet (You Dont Say)

You Dont Say…

How can one grow in the faith he wont show

Is his life as the one whose fatih is none

How can one show of a trait he doesnt know

Does the heart’s truth secreet without the tongue

Of the abundance of soul the mouth speaks

Is there a lack of soul for the closed mouth

In his self refrlection does the truth reach?

Can sincere convey without words to vouch

Does a man betray what he deos not say

Can a man fail in his choice to not tell

How can one mistake in speech she wont make

Is it not hers to reserve all she Felt
