The Gritz On… Bill Cosby Allegations

But I also apologize to women that may have been sexually abused, for the women and media that have used such a horrific experience as leverage for their own personal gain towards relevancy.
As many of the columnist whom have chimed in on the scorching topic of Bill Cosby and the 16 claims of drugging and sexual assault; I do not know Mr. Bill Cosby personally and have no clue if these claims are legitimate or completely false.
My opinion only concerns the fact that these claims are ten, twenty, and thirty years seasoned and lack a moral message.
As I stated to start my article, I apologize to any woman that may have been ever sexually assaulted for the conveyance of any of my own insensitivity, because I am completely empathetic to not only the act of sexual assault against any person, but more especially, against any young women and the lasting effects it may have upon her as a victim.
There is no statute of limitation for the damaging effects sexual assault may have on a victimized young woman. As a responsible man, father, brother, and son, I am completely empathetic to that.
But again my issue and opinion on the claims against Bill Cosby are that of their season and the moral message each lacks. I believe that in a serious case of rape and sexual assault, the first conscious and responsible call should be to the Police not to a news reporter or journalist.
Women who are sexually assaulted often (for many justifiable reasons) wait too long to contact the Police and seek counseling.
This is what should be being encouraged from the platform being created by these allegations. What troubles me about the allegations and the speculation around Mr. Cosby’s encounters with these different women is that instead of using this platform of media coverage and attention to raise awareness and encouragement for other young women who both have been, and will become, victims of sexual assault; they may be only using this platform as a “stage” to regain the Hollywood relevancy that they may of once had.
To say the least, Hollywood is a treacherously untruthful and scandalous community. There is no question that some Hollywood women may fabricate and advance in any opportunity to gain and maintain “the spotlight.” Especially those who may have lost it or stepped out of it. It’s called relevancy and every Hollywood star, actor, musician, or comedian must have it.
There is again, no question that some Hollywood men and women have done both scandalous and untruthful things to get it, but it is most sadly without question that many have abused, misused, and completely neglected the powerful influence of Hollywood spotlight and relevancy once they have got it.
I think from those that have covered it,(columnist, bloggers, media, journalist) to all those that are involved, Cosby and each of the women a-like; all neglect a responsible message to the many young women that have experienced and will experience the vile of rape and sexual assault. In the claims against the credibility of Bill Cosby as Hollywood star and role model, these women may be in fact challenging their own.
My opinion is that if is that if these women have come forward solely for leverage in their careers or some type of pity and do not care to spread any responsible message or outreach to other young and sexually assaulted victims, then what ground have they established for someone to care of their own allegations?
Instead of seeking the spotlight for self pity and their own alleged victimization, these women should be advocating empowerment against sexual assault and imploring a message of “Dont wait til it’s too late.”
The prevention of sexual assault in another young women’s story should supersede the opportunistic effort to tell (or sell) your own.
The message should be for young victims not to wait til its too late and notify authorities (not TMZ) and seek help immediately.
If this is not their message for the stage that has been created in the speculation around their accusations, then in their own case of claims, It’s too late. Your spotlight is done!
